You can’t marry the Grim Reaper in the Sims4! – I’ve tried and failed

I was challenging myself to marry the Grim Reaper and failed horribly. I spent hours and couldn’t make it work. Even making him appear seemed to be impossible already.

Hence, I settled for moving in with the Grim Reaper and I’m going to show you, how I did it, so that you don’t have to suffer through hours of trying to kill your fellow Sims.

1. Enable Cheats – and why

Even getting Grim to move in was annoyingly complicated because you need Sims to die if you want to meet Grim and (un)fortunately it takes ages to kill anybody in the Sims4.

On top of that, you need to kill a bunch of people if you want to meet Grim often enough to get friends with him.

Hence, if you want Grim to move in with you, I highly advise you to enable cheats. Just trust me on that one.

Make sure, “testingcheats on” is enabled!

Of course you’ll still need to meet Grim and therefore somebody has to die.

2. How to kill a Sim … on purpose

You can kill a random Sim on your lot. However, to make sure, they don’t just disappear at some point to “return home” before they die, you should preferably kill a Sim that’s part of your household and that you actually control.

Put the to-be-killed-Sim in a 1-tile-room and let them starve. It takes 3 Sim-days but it’s the safest route.

You can also try to let them catch on fire, but chances are they will be saved somehow.

Starving takes longer, but it’s a more reliable way to die.

3. Moving in with the Grim Reaper

Once the Grim Reaper appears, Shift-Click him (which only works if cheats are enabled) and then add him to your household.

You have to be quick to make this happen, or he will disappear again.

4. Editing the Grim Reaper’s appearance

If you edit the Grim Reaper (or your household) in CAS, you’ll realize that there is no option to give him “the floating look” he usually has for all available dressing occasions (formal, sports etc.)

He will only look as if he’s floating in his “every da” outfit.

Choose something that’s black enough, so to fit the look of his head, so it won’t stick out as a sore thumb.

You want a shortcut?

If you don’t want to go through all this hassle, just use my download in the Gallery #GoddessOfSim #GrimReaper.

You’ll get Father Winter and the Flower Bunny as a bonus and can always move them out if you don’t want to live with them 😉
